Where is The Viking Experience being held?

The Viking Experience will be held at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds just outside of Annapolis, MD. 1450 Generals Hwy, Crownsville, MD 21032.

 

 

When is GreyBeards Viking Experience?

The Viking Experience is being help on May 22-23, 2021, form 10am to 6pm.

 

 

What other amenities are in the surrounding area?

The festival is 2 miles from the Annapolis Mall and about 7 miles outside of Downtown Annapolis.

 

 

Should I dress up in costume?

No, we do not require costumes, but we do admit costumes add to the overall atmosphere. we encourage creativity and permit costumes from all eras and fantasy realms.

 

How should I dress?  

GreyBeards Viking Experience is an outdoor event.  We suggest you dress for the day’s weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.  We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone dressed in a manner deemed as offensive by Faire management. No clothing with written obscenities, violent or sexual images, excessively revealing or transparent fabrics, or offensive symbols. 

 

Can I wear a sword, bow, knife, axe, or any other weapons with my costume?

Yes! All weapons must be sheathed and peace-tied. This means they are sheathed in such a manner as to make them unable to draw. You may bring a bow and arrows, however, the bow must be unstrung or strung with yarn or some other cord that cannot hold tension. Arrows must be untipped and peace-tied into their quiver. Our Security personnel will check all weapons at the gate and offer assistance if needed.

 

 

Can I bring in outside food and drink?

Outside food and drinks are not allowed inside GreyBeards Viking Experience gates; however you may bring in food for infants and toddlers. You may bring in one unopened bottle of water per guest.

 

 

What about alcohol?

No alcohol is allowed in the gate. Alcohol can be purchased at the cash bar.

 

Can I bring my pets to GreyBeards Viking Experience?

No! Pets are not permitted at GreyBeards Viking Experience; however, service animals are not considered pets by the federal government and are welcome at GreyBeards Viking Experience.

Under the American Disabilities Act (ADA), a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person's disability.

ADA is also clear that emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals not considered service animals but are permitted in GreyBeards Viking Experience.

 

Can I smoke at The Viking Experience?

There will be designated smoking areas. The same restrictions for smoking apply to electronic cigarettes/vapors.

 

Is GreyBeards Viking Experience handicap accessible?

The majority of the grounds are handicapped accessible, though it is hilly.

 

 

Is there a charge for parking?

No there is no charge for parking, but we will have a donation box at the ticket booth so that you may give a donation to our charity.

 

 

What do I do in case of a medical emergency while at GreyBeards Viking Experience?

A fully staffed medical services team is available during GreyBeards Viking Experience hours. 

 

 

What is your Re-Entry policy?

Attendees that exit the fairgrounds are permitted to re-enter with proper wristband.

 

 

Can I volunteer and what are the benefits?

Yes, we welcome all volunteers. Our volunteer perks are.

  • Food and drinks (water and soda)

  • Volunteers will get free admition for the entire weekend

  • You can get 20% off at GreyBeards Trading Post on the events merchandise.

CODE OF CONDUCT

 

This is a safe, respectful, inclusive, and fun environment for everyone to enjoy. This Code of Conduct applies to everyone at the festival and participants on social media channels. Guests, staff, volunteers, vendors, and press will be held to the same standards. We reserve the right to remove or ban any person who does not adhere to the Code of Conduct. We do not tolerate harassment of any kind, including:

  • Intimidation or threats

  • Inappropriate disruption of events

  • Hurtful language

  • Physical assault of any type

  • Inappropriate physical contact

  • Unwanted sexual attention

  • Unwanted photography or video recording

  • Bullying or stalking

Especially in connection to:

  • Race or ethnicity

  • National origin

  • Gender identity or presentation

  • Sex or sexual orientation

  • Age

  • Disability, medical condition, or pregnancy

  • Religion

  • Citizenship status

What to do

  • If you are asked to stop any harassing behavior, STOP immediately.

  • If you experience or witness any form of harassment, please contact the nearest staff member. A manager will address the situation.
